Arts & Museums

The Hocking Hills region has a rich history connecting the area to the Civil War, coal mining, moonshining and World War II. The Fairfield Heritage Association Museums include the birthplace of the Civil War legend, General William Tecumseh Sherman. The Hocking Hills Historical Society & Museum Complex in Historic Downtown Logan also celebrates the region's heritage with an exhibit honoring WWII veterans and the WWII transport ship, the USS Hocking.

While miners were drawn to the region for the natural resources, artists and craftsmen are now drawn to the beauty of the Hocking Hills for inspiration, with studios and galleries peppered throughout the hills. Find your inner artist with a little guidance from local artisans. The Hocking Hills Welcome Center to direct you to these treasures on and off the beaten path.
