Tourism Impact Emergency Services (TIES) Grant

With the recent passage of the Ohio state budget and an update to the Ohio Revised Code, the Hocking Hills Tourism Association (HHTA) is excited to announce a new opportunity to support local emergency services: the Tourism Impact Emergency Services (TIES) Grant.

Until now, tourism organizations were restricted from using county lodging tax revenue for anything other than promotional efforts. Thanks to the legislative change, HHTA can now invest a portion of this revenue directly into public safety, helping ensure that those who serve our community are equipped to respond to the demands of increased tourism.

The TIES Grant is specifically designed to assist fire, EMS, law enforcement, and rescue agencies in Hocking County as they manage the seasonal surge of visitors to our region. Funds may be used for critical equipment, specialized training, or other response needs tied to tourism-related service calls.

This grant reflects HHTA’s long-standing commitment to sustainable tourism and community well-being, supporting not only the visitor experience, but also the safety and quality of life for our residents.

The first round of applications will open on September 15 and must be submitted by October 31. Approved grant applications will be announced by December 31.
