Silver Spotted Skipper
The medium-sized Silver-spotted Skipper is brown with a large white blotch on the underside of the hindwings and a large gold spot on the upper side of the forewings.
Silver-spotted Skippers are active in the Hocking Hills from late spring through summer. They are most active when milkweed and mints are in bloom.
They enjoy city parks and other open areas near the caterpillar food source, the leaves of locust trees and wisteria.
