Hocking Hills from a Kid's Point of View

Discover what this kid has to say about her trip to the Hocking Hills.

Do kids really love the Hocking Hills? Recently, Amanda Lang shared with us an essay her daughter wrote after her trip to the Hocking Hills. And if you are wondering if kids love the Hocking Hills, it's a resounding yes from this review. Check out what Emma had to say:

Looking for an outdoor adventure? If you said “yes” Hocking Hills is the place for you. It is a state park in Hocking county, Ohio with lots of fun activities to enjoy and good places to eat. Their main attraction is the majestic cliffs that overwhelm the terrain. They have trails for people at any age.

Personally, my favorite thing to do in Hocking Hills is hike. There are simple trails for elderly people, such as Conkle’s Hollow. Or if you are more of a thrill seeker, you can try Cantwell Cliffs. If you want to take your dog for a walk or get your exercise in, you can take an eight mile loop that features attractions such as Old Man’s Cave, Lake Logan, and Cedar Falls.

Even if there is a rainy day, there are still fun things to do. You can stop by the antique mall and shop for collectibles. Or you can stop at the Amish store and buy furniture that is sure to last. If you’re a cowboy or cowgirl there is a store for you, with boots ranging from western to work.

Couples and newlyweds, they didn’t forget you either. You can go on romantic hikes, romantic dinners, and stay in small cozy cabins with beautiful views. If you’re looking to get married, there are dozens of beautiful country churches to choose from. You can even get your wedding pictures taken in front of the cliffs.

If you’re looking for adventure, or just a place to get away, Hocking Hills is the place to go. There are hundreds of things to enjoy. You can hike, go antique shopping, or enjoy the romantic woods with your sweetheart. Hocking Hills has it all!
