Weekend Things to Do in the Hocking Hills - May 18-19

It's another weekend full of fun things to do in the Hocking Hills!

Whether you want to get outside to explore or check all of the fun things you can do indoors here, there is a lot going on. Here's what you should plan on doing this weekend:

Celebrate Our Welcome Center

Did you know that our Welcome Center has been welcoming visitors to the Hocking Hills for twenty-five years? Meet us there on Saturday to celebrate the anniversary and discover all of the ways our center can help you plan your trip in the Hocking Hills.

Honor Armed Forces Members

From seeing a historic B-25 bomber to a ride in a historic bi-plane, this event at the Fairfield County Airport can't be missed. Celebrate this airport while honoring what makes our armed forces members great.

Raise a Beer

Food trucks, beers and live music?! Does it get any better than that? It does when you can bring your favorite gear to show off to people that will appreciate it. Make sure to stop at Beers, Gears & Cheers!

Explore

There's nothing more fun than exploring the Hocking Hills. This weekend, you can do just that with Creeking and Ridgetops & Hollers. In other words, you have great options to get to know the animals that call our area home.

Stop at the Naturalist Cabin

This weekend, the Naturalist Cabin will introduce you to local Birds of Prey. You can learn the differences between owls and hawks, while also learning diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey.

Pick Up a New Hobby

Have you ever wanted to try archery? This weekend is your chance. Meet the naturalist at the archery range. Bows will be available.

Make a Stop at the Farmers' Market

Get started eating local with a stop at the Athens Farmers' Market or the Lancaster Farmers' Market. And even better, you'll get the chance to shake the hand of the person that made your food.

See the Work of Local Artists

Want to see some local art? The Can Do Creations Annual Art Show is here! This is a great opportunity to support local artists while also a local nonprofit.

Or go to Bowen House to see the different works of art by local women. Everything from paintings to jewelry will be represented at this show.

Hear Live Music

Let the music of the Hocking Hills warm you up this winter. Make a stop at Brewery 33,  Hocking Hills Winery or RockSide Winery & Vineyards to hear great local music while also drinking local.

Or go to the Appalachian Listening Room to hear a live performance in an intimate setting.

See the Stars

There's nothing quite like a beautiful starry night. And that starry night looks even better at the John Glenn Astronomy Park. Bring your whole family to marvel at the beauty of the night sky.
