Weekend Things to Do in the Hocking Hills - Mar 9-10
It's another weekend full of fun things to do in the Hocking Hills!
Whether you want to get outside to explore or check all of the fun things you can do indoors here, there is a lot going on. Here's what you should plan on doing this weekend:
Make a Stop at the Farmers' Market
Is your goal this year to eat food that is better for you? Then this is a great time to start eating local. Get started with a stop at the Athens Farmers' Market. And even better, you'll get the chance to shake the hand of the person that made your food.
See the Work of Local Artists
Did you know some very talented artists call the Hocking Hills home? You can see the work of just a few of them at Positive Light, a photographic exhibition of life’s brighter side, featuring John Halley, Wendy Minor Viny and Joel Prince. In this exhibit, these photographers share what they find uplifting about our area.
Or take a look at the art of our wonderful young artists at Seedlings 17th Annual Spring Art Show.
Hear Live Music
Or make a stop at Bowen House to enjoy the music and Celtic traditions of Changeling.
Go on a Date
The Ridge Inn Restaurant is hosting Sweet Second Saturday. This is your chance to take the one you love on a date with live music and dinner specials.
You can check out the Second Sunday Beadmaking at the Ohio Glass Museum. Here you will find demonstrations and chances to try your hand at the craft. It's a great opportunity to pick up a new hobby!
Make Maple Syrup
Did you know there are many methods for making maple syrup? Try your hand at them this weekend at the Naturalist Cabin's Maple Sugaring in the Hills.
See the Stars
There's nothing quite like a beautiful starry night. And that starry night looks even better at the John Glenn Astronomy Park. Bring your whole family to marvel at the beauty of the night sky.
Enjoy a Musical
It's the tale as old as time. Beauty and the Beast is coming to Stuart's Opera House, and we'd love you to be our guest for this wonderful musical.
Get to the Downtown Lancaster Shop Hop to explore local shops and restaurants. You can also get great deals and participate in giveaways. It will be a fun weekend to shop local!
Help with a Bird Count
Whether you have a lot of birding experience or not, your help is needed this weekend at the Winter Bird Count. And participants even receive a free lunch!
