Weekend Things to Do in the Hocking Hills - Mar 23-24
Looking for fun things to do in the Hocking Hills? Check out what there is to do this weekend.
It's another weekend full of fun things to do in the Hocking Hills!
Whether you want to get outside to explore or check all of the fun things you can do indoors here, there is a lot going on. Here's what you should plan on doing this weekend:
If you've ever wondered what birds call the Hocking Hills home, then you have a chance to find out this weekend. Get to the Naturalist Cabin, and be introduced to our local birds. Or participate in the annual Winter Bird Count. No birding experience is necessary and participants can receive a free lunch!
Go on a Hike
Want to go on a group hike? You have two opportunities this weekend! Join Scalawags & Renegades at Rock House or meet a naturalist for an Ash Cave hike. Both will give you an opportunity to learn more about the history and geology of our beautiful area.
Create Something Beautiful
Want to celebrate the start of Spring? Homegrown on Main is hosting a workshop to create a Spring-Themed Wine Glass Painting. Not only is this a great way to welcome warmer weather to our area, but you'll also walk away with a wine glass you'll be proud of.
Make a Stop at the Farmers' Market
Get started eating local with a stop at the Athens Farmers' Market. And even better, you'll get the chance to shake the hand of the person that made your food.
See the Work of Local Artists
Did you know some very talented artists call the Hocking Hills home? You can see the work of just a few of them at Positive Light, a photographic exhibition of life’s brighter side, featuring John Halley, Wendy Minor Viny and Joel Prince. In this exhibit, these photographers share what they find uplifting about our area.
Hear Live Music
Or hear the music of Parker Millsap in a solo, acoustic show. You will have the intimacy of a backstage show with general admission.
See the Stars
There's nothing quite like a beautiful starry night. And that starry night looks even better at the John Glenn Astronomy Park. Bring your whole family to marvel at the beauty of the night sky.
