Weekend Things to Do in the Hocking Hills - Mar 16-17
It's another weekend full of fun things to do in the Hocking Hills!
Whether you want to get outside to explore or check all of the fun things you can do indoors here, there is a lot going on. Here's what you should plan on doing this weekend:
The Naturalist Cabin is hosting a reptile rampage! Get up close and personal with some of the reptiles that call the Hocking Hills home. It's a great opportunity for you and your kids to learn a little more about our beautiful area.
Go on a Hike
Are you ready for Conkle's Creep? This is your opportunity to hike in this nature preserve with a naturalist while you learn what makes this preserve so special.
Or if you want a bit more of a challenge, go on the Whispering Cave Hike. This moderately strenuous hike will take you to the second largest recess cave in the park.
Take a Ride on the Shamrock Express
Looking for a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Then hop on board the Shamrock Express. With beer, wine and Celtic music, you'll have a blast while wearing your green on this train.
Make a Stop at the Farmers' Market
Get started eating local with a stop at the Athens Farmers' Market. And even better, you'll get the chance to shake the hand of the person that made your food.
See the Work of Local Artists
Did you know some very talented artists call the Hocking Hills home? You can see the work of just a few of them at Positive Light, a photographic exhibition of life’s brighter side, featuring John Halley, Wendy Minor Viny and Joel Prince. In this exhibit, these photographers share what they find uplifting about our area.
Or take a look at the art of our wonderful young artists at Seedlings 17th Annual Spring Art Show.
Hear Live Music
Or would you prefer to hear the amazing music of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra? They will be taking the stage of the Stuart Opera House for a very special event that is not to be missed.
See the Stars
There's nothing quite like a beautiful starry night. And that starry night looks even better at the John Glenn Astronomy Park. Bring your whole family to marvel at the beauty of the night sky.
Enjoy a Musical
Logan High School is bringing Shrek to the stage this weekend. With fire-breathing dragons, a wooden boy, gingerbread man and Lord Farquaad, your whole family will want to see this production.
