Weekend Things to Do in the Hocking Hills - June 29-30
It's another weekend full of fun things to do in the Hocking Hills!
Whether you want to get outside to explore or check all of the fun things you can do indoors here, there is a lot going on. Here's what you should plan on doing this weekend:
Have Festival Fun
Have some good ole fashioned fun at the Sugar Grove Stars & Stripes Festival. The festival ends with Boom in the Grove, a fireworks display you won't soon forget. And proceeds from this festival will support music education at Berne Union Schools!
Go for a Hike
Have you ever wondered about the history of Rock House? This is your chance. Go on the Historical Rock House Hike to enjoy the natural beauty of the area while also learning about the local history.
Doesn't a lazy river float along the Hocking River sound amazing? You can do that this weekend at the 2nd Annual Summer Tube-A-Rama on Hocking River. Tubes are available to rent or you can bring your own. It's the perfect way to relax and enjoy a summer day.
Spend a Day in the Garden
Garden tours, plants for sale and art?! The Hocking House 25th Annual Garden Art Gathering has it all, and you've just got to get there to see it in person.
See Outdoor Theater
There is nothing quite like seeing the epic story of Tecumseh live. Sit under the stars as the story unfolds in front of you, complete with horses and stunning live battle sequences. It makes for a night that you will never forget.
Raise a Beer
Food trucks, beers and live music?! Does it get any better than that? It does when you can bring your favorite gear to show off to people that will appreciate it. Make sure to stop at Beers, Gears & Cheers!
Learn from a Naturalist
Do you have questions about the wildlife that calls the Hocking Hills home? Or do you want to learn a new way to explore the Hocking Hills? This weekend, you can learn creeking, the difference between ridgetops and hollers or you can bring any of your questions to the Naturalist Cabin.
Make a Stop at the Farmers' Market
See the Work of Artists
Want to see some local art? You can see the work of quilters at The Dairy Barn Arts Center. These were deemed the 84 best contemporary quilts in the world, so it's something not to be missed.
Hear Live Music
Enjoy the music of the Hocking Hills. Make a stop at Brewery 33, Hocking Hills Winery or RockSide Winery & Vineyards to hear great local music while also drinking local. Or hear local kids show off their skills at the Artista Rock School Showcase.
See the Stars
There's nothing quite like a beautiful starry night. And that starry night looks even better at the John Glenn Astronomy Park. Bring your whole family to marvel at the beauty of the night sky.
