Weekend Things to Do in the Hocking Hills - July 27-28

It's another weekend full of fun things to do in the Hocking Hills!
Whether you want to get outside to explore or check all of the fun things you can do indoors here, there is a lot going on. Here's what you should plan on doing this weekend:
Have Festival Fun
Did you know Ohio's largest music and arts festival takes place in Lancaster? The Lancaster Festival is taking over the historic downtown with 75 events this weekend. You'll find a little something for everyone at this nationally recognized festival.
Or have fun at the Diamond Music Festival. With music from all over central and southeast Ohio, you'll definitely find an act you will love.
Play Golf at Night
Get ready to light up the night with Late Night Golf. This mini golf course will be lit up for a fun night of golf. And don't miss the ice cream!
Go for a Hike
Enjoy the beautiful weather while you make a new friend with a guided butterfly hike. You will also get special tips on how to attract butterflies to your home landscaping.
Feed Hummingbirds
Did you know you can actually get up close to feed hummingbirds? Go to Hungry Hummers at Lake Hope State Park for your chance. All you have to do is be very still and very quiet, and you just might make a friend with a hummingbird.
See Outdoor Theater
There is nothing quite like seeing the epic story of Tecumseh live. Sit under the stars as the story unfolds in front of you, complete with horses and stunning live battle sequences. It makes for a night that you will never forget.
Raise a Beer
Food trucks, beers and live music?! Does it get any better than that? It does when you can bring your favorite gear to show off to people that will appreciate it. Make sure to stop at Beers, Gears & Cheers!
Learn from a Naturalist
Do you know the difference between a ridgetop and a holler? Or what creeking is? Meet a naturalist this weekend and get to know more about the critters that call the Hocking Hills home.
Make a Stop at the Farmers' Market
Get started eating local with a stop at the Athens Farmers' Market or the Lancaster Farmers' Market. And even better, you'll get the chance to shake the hand of the person that made your food.
See the Work of Artists
Want to see some local art? You can see the work of quilters at The Dairy Barn Arts Center. These were deemed the 84 best contemporary quilts in the world, so it's something not to be missed. Or take advantage of Jack Pine's Summer Open House and get to see glass blowing demonstrations. And be sure to check out Casey's Rock n Roll Dustbin Exhibit.
Hear Live Music
Enjoy the music of the Hocking Hills. Make a stop at Brewery 33, Hocking Hills Winery or RockSide Winery & Vineyards to hear great local music while also drinking local. Or hear our local kids rock it out with the Artista Rock School Showcase.
See the Stars
There's nothing quite like a beautiful starry night. And that starry night looks even better at the John Glenn Astronomy Park. Bring your whole family to marvel at the beauty of the night sky.
