Weekend Things to Do in the Hocking Hills - July 13-14

It's another weekend full of fun things to do in the Hocking Hills!

Whether you want to get outside to explore or check all of the fun things you can do indoors here, there is a lot going on. Here's what you should plan on doing this weekend:

Have Festival Fun

Do love art, gardening and live music? Then Lilyfest is perfect for you! Spend the day strolling through the gardens and then enjoy the entertainment. Plants will be available for purchase and you will have the opportunity to speak with master gardeners.

Go for a Hike

This weekend, take a stroll through the Cedar Falls. A naturalist will be on hand to talk to you about the natural and cultural history of the area. And you will have the chance to see one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Hocking Hills.

Float Along

Want a little romance in your life? Then join the Romantic Moonlight Canoe Trip on the Hocking. Not only will you be able to row a canoe by moonlight, but you will also get to listen to live music and sit by a bonfire for a marshmallow roast.

Go on a Date

The Ridge Inn Restaurant is hosting Sweet Second Saturday. This is your chance to take the one you love on a date with live music and dinner specials.

Pick Up a New Hobby

You can check out the Second Sunday Beadmaking at the Ohio Glass Museum. Here you will find demonstrations and chances to try your hand at the craft.

Meet the Butterflies

It's a great weekend if you love butterflies. You can go on a guided butterfly hike to see them in nature. Or go to the Butterfly Ridge Conservation Center as they bring out special lights to attract moths during Saturday Night Lights

Feed Hummingbirds

Did you know you can actually get up close to feed hummingbirds? Go to Hungry Hummers at Lake Hope State Park for your chance. All you have to do is be very still and very quiet, and you just might make a friend with a hummingbird.

See Outdoor Theater

There is nothing quite like seeing the epic story of Tecumseh live. Sit under the stars as the story unfolds in front of you, complete with horses and stunning live battle sequences. It makes for a night that you will never forget.

Raise a Beer

Food trucks, beers and live music?! Does it get any better than that? It does when you can bring your favorite gear to show off to people that will appreciate it. Make sure to stop at Beers, Gears & Cheers!

Learn from a Naturalist

Do you have questions about the wildlife that calls the Hocking Hills home? Or do you want to learn a new way to explore the Hocking Hills? This weekend, you can learn creeking, the difference between ridgetops and hollers, meet some terrific turtles or find our more about the local birds of prey

Make a Stop at the Farmers' Market

Get started eating local with a stop at the Athens Farmers' Market or the Lancaster Farmers' Market. And even better, you'll get the chance to shake the hand of the person that made your food.

See the Work of Artists

Want to see some local art? You can see the work of quilters at The Dairy Barn Arts Center. These were deemed the 84 best contemporary quilts in the world, so it's something not to be missed. Or check out  Casey's Rock n Roll Dustbin Exhibit

Hear Live Music

Enjoy the music of the Hocking Hills. Make a stop at Brewery 33,  Hocking Hills Winery or RockSide Winery & Vineyards to hear great local music while also drinking local.

See the Stars

There's nothing quite like a beautiful starry night. And that starry night looks even better at the John Glenn Astronomy Park. Bring your whole family to marvel at the beauty of the night sky.
