A Guide to Wineries in Southeastern Ohio
Come enjoy our fine wines and enjoy a weekend of Hocking Hills camping
Ohio has one of the most active wine industries in the Midwest, and Hocking Hills is proud to be part of that tradition. We have three wineries that are currently in operation, and a third which is opening very soon. Each of these establishments offers our visitors a myriad of activities to participate in, including wine tastings, vineyard tours and menus filled with locally grown foods.
Check out our list of wineries to add to your Hocking Hills camping itinerary:
Hocking Hills Winery
On April 4, we’d like to welcome you to the grand opening of the Hocking Hills Winery. Whether you’d like to try the locally sourced wines, or those created from grapes from all over the world, this brand new winery in the heart of Hocking Hills has what you’re looking for.
Pay a visit if you’d like to participate in a tasting, or just enjoy a glass of your favorite wine on the patio.
Manchester Hill Winery
If you’re looking for a family owned, rustic themed winery, Manchester Hill might be your cup of tea (or glass of wine).
Our fine establishment features handcrafted wines, a tasting room that seats up to 35 guests, a retail area and a cheese plate to pair with your samples. Don’t forget to bring a pair of boots if you’d like to feed bread crumbs to the farm animals after your tasting.
Each wine is crafted using grapes from vineyards throughout Ohio, as well as select other regions. The winery’s fruit wines are locally sourced, and you’ll also see handmade items from local Ohio vendors.
Rockside Winery and Vineyards
For the purist who only wants to sample and drink wines that were created in Ohio, try Rockside Winery and Vineyards. All wines are made on the premises using grapes harvested from four-and-a-half acres of vinifera, a type of French and American hybrid grapevine.
Come enjoy happy hour every Thursday from 5-8 p.m., where glasses of wine and food items are 25 percent off. Or, stop by on Saturdays for live and local music from 5-8: p.m.
Enjoy a taste, glass or bottle of wine in the relaxing tasting room or on the comfortable wrap-around porch at Shade Winery. Gaze out at the vineyard and pair your favorite wine with cheese, crackers, olives, salmon or chocolate. Or, feel free to bring your own food.
Shade winery is also available for public events, just them a call.
