Follow these tips to get the best winter lodging deals in Hocking Hills
There are so many great reasons to visit Hocking Hills in the winter (frozen waterfalls, anyone?), but one of the greatest draws this time of year are deals on cabins and lodging.
In the winter, your choice of abode is even more important than in the warmer months. You may be planning this trip, in fact, for the sole purpose of a night away from home in a cozy cabin in the snowy woods (we like ours with fireplaces) and a hot tub steaming outside in the cold.

Book last-minute
In the colder months availability increases, which means not only can you wait and grab last-minute specials, but you can also be picky about the type of place you get.
A lot of cabin rental companies offer last-minute deals on their websites. If the rental companies don’t have them listed, consider calling and asking for an updated quote.

Check for winter specials
Many places also offer winter specials — up to 20 percent off regular season rates. Check their websites for information; Ash Ridge Cabins, for example, has great deals, and Cabins by the Cave has a “Winter Madness” sale.

Pick fewer amenities
The fewer amenities you request, the lower your rate. The providers of the rustic cabins at Hocking Hills Adventures said, “If you’re looking for a penthouse suite with 24/7 room service, you won’t find it here … that kind of pampering just isn’t our style.”
So your dream cabin had a fireplace — it’s OK to let it slide. Pick a place with a fire pit and bundle up outside!
Stay longer
Many cabin rental companies offer cheap rental rates if you stay three days or more. With many companies, the longer you stay, the more you save (up to 5 to 10 percent off your visit).
It may not seem like a lot, but if you’re planning a long trip anyway, pick a place with a discount. Old Man’s Cave Chalets, for instance, offers 10 percent off if you book a seven-day stay.
