Vinton County Air Show
September 21, 2025
This year’s show will be Sunday September 21st starting at 12:30 with the Vinton County High School Marching Band starting things off! Then the Screaming Chicken Sky Diving Team will drop in with the American Flagg to get the action started. You will get see the best piston pounding aerial acrobatic pilots smoke up Pumpkin Ridge with their flying skills. The pilots at this year’s show are Emerson Stewart, Brett Hunter, Ron (Tico) LaCreda, Nick Coleman and Mike Hartman.
Rupert stated “that it wouldn’t be an Air Show unless Roger Barnes and his Flying Torro Mower were not here!” The flying mower has been a traditional act at the show since 1992. He also stated that “if it wasn’t for the 4-H’ers, both the Vinton County Football Team and Marching Band we wouldn’t be able to have an Air Show”! The show also owes many thanks to the McArthur Aerie 2279 Eagles Club who prepare the chicken and sponsor the Candy Drop for the kids!
Please note that Airport Road off of Route 93 will close at 12:30. To access the airport and parking area take St. Rt. 328 to Airport Road east. The show is free however, the Pilots and Boosters ask for a $10.00 per car parking donation. All proceeds from the show are used to maintain the airport.
