Stewardship Plan Survey

Hocking Hills Tourism Association (HHTA), invite all tourism stakeholders and residents to join special sessions May 8-9, 2024, where we and consulting firm Clarity of Place will unveil the Destination Stewardship Plan. The initiative to create this plan began in October 2023, with a goal to protect and preserve the Hocking Hills for generations to come.

Since then, HHTA and Clarity of Place have carefully listened to and incorporated locals’ vision for tourism in the area. We encouraged locals’ input by conducting 18 interviews, nine focus groups of tourism stakeholders, two resident town halls, and tourism stakeholder and resident surveys. Clarity of Place has researched and interpreted Hocking Hills tourism data and industry data, including visitation trends and indirect impacts on growth in short-term rental properties.

The upcoming meetings will introduce the Destination Stewardship Plan and the research that helped shape it. The plan calls for collaborative efforts across the community, recognizing HHTA's marketing role. The plan outlines how the Hocking Hills can achieve destination stewardship and the organizations best suited to handle each action step. This new collaboration will help shape a visitor economy in the Hocking Hills that prioritizes community needs, and we hope you will join us in that effort.

Please join us for a session that shares the new plan’s highlights.
